WHA Launches Learn To Play Hockey!
posted 09/17/2009

The Mini Warriors hockey program is designed to teach basic hockey skills while integrating fun into both practices and games. Primary emphasis is on teaching hockey skating skills and puck handling through a variety of drills. The Mini Warriors program will divide the players by skill level and age into either the basic (lowest skill level) or advanced (higher skill level and age). The philosophy behind this program is that by teaching these young players the correct skating fundamentals and puck handling skills in an organized, progressive series of drills in a fun filled environment, they will be better prepared for the next level of hockey.
If you have a child that wants to be a Mini Warrior and he or she is between the ages of 3 and 8, please contact Craig Montgomery, Hockey Director for the Winterhurst Hockey Association. Craig can be reached at 877-816-1220, ext. 2228 or by email at .

Winterhurst Creates New Championship Banner Room
posted 03/31/2009

As everyone knows Winterhurst went through a renovation last summer, after the project was completed many of our historic championship banners came up missing.  Without having records going back to the 80's these accomplishments are lost.  With a unanimous board decison WHA has now found a solution to preserve our accomplishments and display our championship banners in a dedicated web page called the Championship Banner Room located in the main menu.

We would like to thank 1st Place Graphics for bringing this solution to WHA!  This company is dedicated to Youth Hockey Branding and has pioneered this novel idea.  WHA is the first to bring championship Banner displays to the web! Check it out...
