Levels of Play Available, Expectations and Fee information
Roberto Clemente (RC “0” League/Majors) (Ages 7-8) –Must attend tryouts. This league is for players who want to play competitive baseball at age 7 or 8. Players do all the pitching. This league is competitive baseball played countywide. If a team is not formed or a player does not make this team they will be assigned to a Coach Pitch team. Early Pay Registration fee $180.00 before 12/31/09.Full Payment Registration fee $200 includes league hat. Registrations are due 1-15-2010.Uniform fees are an extra fee (prices vary per team). ALL Players are required to participate in league sponsored fundraiser or pay $60 buyout.
“0” League/Majors (Ages 9-14) – Must attend tryouts. All 9 year olds must attend tryouts. The team plays about 18-24 league games, may play in 1-3 tournaments, and could qualify for post-season play. The coaches at this level require a high level of commitment from the players. There are usually 10-12 players and it is expected that vacations, appointments and social events be scheduled around baseball. This league plays high school rules (stealing, dropped third strike, etc.) The player and parents must make a commitment to play at this level. “1”/AAA and “2”/AA League (Ages 9-14) – All 9 year olds must attend tryouts. Unless returning to the previous year’s team, all 10-14 year old players must go to Draft Day. The baseball is still “competitive” but there are 14-16 league games, optional tournaments, and possible post-season play. There are usually 11-13 players on a team. Coaches want all their players available for every practice and game, but may work around some vacations. The emphasis is still on being competitive and requires a strong commitment level. “3” League (Ages 9-14) –Tryouts Optional. All 9 year olds must attend tryouts. Recreational baseball, all players will make a team. There are generally 12-14 players per team. Teams consist of players with average ability or those who play baseball just for fun. Early Pay Registration fee $180.00 before 12/31/09.Full Payment Registration fee $200 includes league hat. T-Ball (Age 4-6), Coach Pitch (Age 7- 8) - These leagues are for boys and girls to learn the fundamentals of baseball, gain experience with organized sports, and have fun. They will play 8 league games and play in a season ending tournament. They will play locally against other Golden teams formed primarily by their elementary schools. Practices will start in late March, games begin in late April, and the season ending tournament will be in June. Registration fee $95.00 includes team shirt and hat. Registrations are due 3-15-2010. ALL Players are required to participate in league sponsored fundraiser or pay $60 buyout.
