League Board Members

Welcome to the Roosevelt, University, Greenlake Little League! We'd like to introduce ourselves and give you some contact information to be able to reach us if you have any questions or concerns about the league or anything that is happening during the season.  We're also always looking for new members to help us out on the board, so feel free to step up and volunteer!

Dan Radolla

President

Dan Radolla ( )

Jeff Luth

Vice President

Jeff Luth ( )

Jeff is an Architect by profession and has two players still involved with RUG, a Senior baseballer and a Junior softballer. He has coached in all divisions T-ball through Majors and won a championship while steering the Wildcats in Minors.  Jeff acknowledges no hobbies outside of baseball (during the season), his favorite Mariner is Ichiro and he will eat any type of food put in front of him.

Sylvia Riveland

Secretary

Sylvia Riveland ( )

Sylvia is a Copywriter by profession and spends her free time reading, creating mixed-media art, and avoiding housework.  She has a Junior baseballer active in RUG and has participated often as a team parent since her son started playing in 1999. Her favorite Mariner is Edgar Martinez- she notes that he played with talent, persistence, heart and integrity. She loves all Asian cuisines, especially Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese.

John Van Aelstyn

Treasurer

John Van Aelstyn ( )

John is a self-described “businessman” whose varied experience and acumen has positioned him to ably hold the purse strings for RUG.  His 16 (SIXTEEN!) volunteer years have encompassed his treasurer role, field maintenance, scorekeeper, concessionaire and errand runner. His two young adult offspring are both long term veterans of RUG LL and successfully making their way in the larger world.  John enjoys snow and water skiing, fishing, hiking and relaxing with friends.  His favorite Mariner – that class act: Dan Wilson. Food favorites are a tossup with a three-sided coin; Asian, Italian or a Hot Dog and Soda accompanied by RUGLL baseball at Maple Leaf Field.

Ron Clinkenbeard

Registrar

Ron Clinkenbeard ( )

Ron is a Metrologist (referring to measurement, not weather) at Boeing and has two retired RUG players. He even played in RUG, when gloves were real leather! He has coached Minors and Majors and took on his current role as Registrar in 2005. His voice could even be heard announcing the batters in the District 8 11-year olds All-Star tournament in 2006. He enjoys reading, travel and all manner of sporting activities. Edgar gets the nod as his favorite Mariner and you would likely see him venturing toward Thai or Indian restaurant offerings.

Player Agent

Marty Holberg ( )

Marty is a Construction Subcontractor who has been linked up with RUG for 14 years, volunteering as a Manager, Fund Raiser and Player Agent. His three players are retired from RUG allowing Marty a few seconds more in his schedule to indulge his hobbies related to politics. His favorite Mariner player was Bill Krueger and he would be hard pressed to turn down an offer to eat Italian.

Information Officer(s)

Kevin Tucker

Kevin Tucker ( )

Kevin is a computer geek and website junkie who had about zero interest in any team sport until his boys decided that they liked baseball.  They've been playing in RUG for the past several years, and since there as a need, Kevin jumped in to help out with the website.  Despite never having played or even watched much baseball, he's found that he's enjoyed watching his own kids play.  Favorite Mariner: "Who are the Mariner's?  Just kidding!"  Favorite food: Chinese & Japanese.

Renita Warn ( )

Renita skillfully juggles motherhood in the Maple Leaf neighborhood, software engineering for a large local aerospace company, corralling 2 RUG little leaguers and 2 aspiring ballerinas.  Her involvement with RUG spans 6 years, finely honing her scorekeeping and T-baller herding skills and supporting RUGLL presence in the wired world.  She might be found running, dancing or skiing in her elusive spare time.  Dan Wilson collects her vote as favorite Mariner and she is partial to Thai food, but has never met a brownie that she did not like

Baseball Commissioners

Charles Christian

T-Ball/Coach Pitch Commissioner

Charles Christian ( / )

Charles is a Pastor and University Professor and tends to two current RUG Little Leaguers. He has been involved with RUG since 2005 as an assistant coach, coach and division commissioner. He enjoys music, hanging out with his family, reading and walking. His favorite Mariner player: Edgar Martinez. Charles particularly enjoys Mexican and Thai cuisine.

Minor/Major League Commissioner

Mike Hatzenbeler ( / )

Mike is CEO of a local non-profit that improves the lives of people with disabilities.  He has allied with RUG for 5 years, managing Minors, Majors and Juniors teams and held board responsibility for editing a periodic newsletter.   He has one retired RUG player, one active T-baller and a Minor Softball player.   He enjoys (loves) fishing, golf and skiing but has deferred those activities while building an addition to his home.   Mike is partial to two Mariner namesakes – Blowers and Cameron.  Barbecue appeals to his epicurean tendencies.

Rick Pellinger

Softball Commissioner

Rick Pellinger ( )

Rick applies himself as an Architect in the Seattle area while filling his commissioner role.  He has held title to coach and manager in both the baseball and softball arenas.  He has one RUG alumni baseball player and a current junior softballer.  Rick enjoys golf, snowboarding, other sports and tending to his dog.  His favorite Mariner player: Jamie Moyer. His food tastes are oriented toward meat,… just give him meat.

Chief Umpire

Ross Kling ( )

Ross is a small business owner by profession, currently engaged in four distinct companies. He believes that the best seat in the house is right behind the catcher. Ross loves the concentration of making the calls and the exercise of running around and enjoys the connections he makes with players and the fans and coaches, too. The only downside is waking up every morning to sore thighs and a hoarse voice. Ross has been the RUG Chief Umpire for more than 10 years and his kids have long ago retired from little league. His favorite guys at Safeco are the umpires and he loves sitting in the far bleacher seats as that gives him best view of the strike zone. His hobby is weaving and he currently owns two looms and his favorite foods are popcorn, homebrew and 5-star spicy Thai.
